Hi! I’m Victor, also known as Valterink.

For the past two years, I’ve been working as a professional fantasy cartographer, creating hand-drawn maps for fantasy novels, tabletop RPGs, and board games. I specialize in traditional media, though I also work with digital tools when needed. There's something special about creating a tangible piece of art, whether it’s delivered physically or as a digital file—the charm of hand-drawn maps is always preserved, no matter the medium.

I’m an advocate for hand-drawn maps across all my social platforms, believing that even the simplest hand-drawn map far outshines any digital template or app-generated design.

With a background in science, I have a deep understanding of geography and biomes, which helps me break and bend the rules of real-world geography to craft believable fantasy landscapes. You’ll see this influence in how I exaggerate certain geographic features to create a sense of scale, wonder, and just the right amount of magic in every map.

When I’m not working on maps, I’m honing my artistic skills, experimenting with new tools, reading (I run a local book club), and studying science—I hold a Master of Science in Biotechnology. I also enjoy spending quality time with my loved ones.
